THE APOLLO ROCKER​
The piece that debuted the Mythos Collection, the Apollo Rocker is the paramount example of Townsend’s drive to modernize classic concepts.
Inspired both by the comfort and durability of the traditional Boston rocking chair and by modern minimalism, the Apollo utilizes aviation-grade aluminum, black walnut, and tiger maple to achieve a reimagined form.
Amazingly, the use of metal in the chair’s spindles create a comfortably contoured backrest that cradles the body, and Townsend’s skill with traditional wood joinery and carving techniques bring a smooth glide and sturdy feel to this graceful design.
