Townsend has designed interior LED lighting that emphasizes the dynamic structure of the chair. The LEDs highlight the interplay of light and shadow found within Bacchus’s inlays. Available in both white and 15 settings of color-changing lights, the LED addition offers a bold statement for the visionary decorator.

Introducing Bacchus Aura

THE BACCHUS CLUB CHAIR

Bacchus is a piece that brings you home. Designed for relaxation, Townsend’s newest chair interprets the refined refuge of the private club for an unpretentious domestic setting.

Bacchus merges modern lines and cosmopolitan materials with the comfort of a recreational piece. Jet-cut metallic inlays lend intrigue to its streamlined form, creating interplays of light and shadow. Eye-catching, yet comfortable and practical, Bacchus is the ideal anchor for a den or entertainment setting. With its imposing stance, it can also lend a touch of casual professionalism to a personal office.

Townsend’s inspiration for the Bacchus came from one of America’s most powerful monoliths: the Lincoln Memorial. “Daniel Chester French’s memorial imparts a majesty to Lincoln’s elevated chair”, says Townsend. “I wanted to capture the stateliness of Lincoln’s seated form. Bacchus is a chair that feels like a throne.”

Bacchus is available in two styles. The Walnut Maze features a geometric metal inlay, while an upholstered version, Bacchus Zebra, is inlayed with a vertically striped panel that evokes the club chair’s hunting and gaming tradition.
